When I got my first computer, a VIC 20 Commodore, I quickly saw its potential and began exploring its graphics capabilities. I had to create the interface for the audiotape cassette myself using a schematic. I could program in BASIC and used PEEK and POKE to place dots into memory, building arrays of images. My first real project was a theater presentation for a friend of Monique van Kerkhof’s final exam. From that point on, design has always fascinated me. When I saw a demonstration of AutoCAD and AutoShade, my interest grew even more.
